Just five days after the Italian Grand Prix finished, the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team has been back in action today at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The ninth round of the MotoGP World Championship 2022 started in hot conditions and will most likely continue to be a heat challenge for men and material.

WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team’s premier class rookie Darryn Binder wasn’t affected by the weather at all. He started off in 24th this morning in Free Practice one, riding his Yamaha YZR-M1 for the first time at the Catalan track, which is closest to his second home in Andorra. In Free Practice two this afternoon, he managed to improve on his fastest time from this morning by more than one second in order to climb up into the top 20.

“It has been super cool to ride here in Barcelona on the MotoGP bike and I really enjoyed the circuit on this machine. It’s been a tricky day anyway, as the grip levels are a little bit low. In FP2, I felt good on the bike overall, I feel like I’m still heading into the right direction, picking up where I left off in Mugello, so I’m very happy about that. I felt quite strong in FP2 and I’m looking forward to tomorrow to keep improving. Let’s see what happens.”
