Darryn enjoys positive test at Jerez

The LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Moto2 team opened the 2023 season with a two-day test in Jerez with their completely new line-up, with Darryn looking increasingly comfortable in the Moto2 category.

Darryn did his first hopeful laps on his new Kalex bike as a Moto2 rookie after competing in the MotoGP category the previous year. A small slip on Tuesday as well as on Wednesday morning cost the 25-year-old precious time while the best conditions prevailed on the Andalusian track. Nevertheless, his feeling ahead of the test in Portimao is thoroughly positive after the first collaboration with the experienced Moto2 team was extremely constructive.

Highly motivated and with a concrete test plan in mind, the new LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Team riders are now preparing for the official Moto2 test, which will take place in Portimao, Portugal, from 17-19 March. It will be the final rehearsal before the season opener is also fought out at the same track just one week later.

“It’s been a really good two days and we made another positive step forward today. Unfortunately, I had a crash early this morning and I feel like we lost precious time when the track was at its best so I am a little bit disappointed for making this mistake and losing this track time. Other than that, I am really happy with how things have been going with the team. We’ve been making positive steps forward and I feel comfortable and calm working with them. So far I am happy and with two days being done, we now have a day to rest and recover before heading to Portimao for the official Test. I’m excited about that and slowly but surely finding my speed.”
