Darryn optimistic for Sunday’s #DutchGP with 15th place grid slot

Darryn had a rather mixed start to the Assen weekend. Intensive set-up work helped the 25-year-old to push into Q2 thanks to his fourteenth place in the third practice session. In the afternoon, in Q2, he tried everything to get his Kalex into the top 10 in sweaty temperatures. In the end, 15th on the grid in row five is on the agenda for Sunday’s race, for which he is in good spirits and hopes to take full advantage of his strong race pace in the 22-lap race.

The eighth Moto2 Grand Prix of the 2023 season starts on Sunday at 12:15 (CEST).

“I think today is still a good day as we made some decent steps from Friday to today. I managed to pass directly into Q2 which was my goal and I was really happy. In Q2, I didn’t get everything together the way I would have liked to and I was hoping for a higher-up position on the grid but overall, considering that yesterday was quite difficult, I am satisfied. I will just have to get my head down tomorrow and have a good race going into the summer break with more information.”
