Tough qualifying day at Buriram for Darryn Binder

The Thailand Grand Prix has been a big challenge so far for LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Moto2 riders Darryn Binder and his teammate Lukas Tulovic. But despite starting 25th and 26th on row 9, both are confident of making up ground in the race.

Darryn returned to the pits visibly disappointed with 25th on the grid after failing to match the pace of the Top4 in Q1. With a gap of 0.636s, the South African eventually finished 11th in Q1. On race Sunday, the 25-year-old hopes to rewrite history once again and make as much ground as possible towards the points.

The 17th race of the Moto2 season, which will comprise 22 heated laps, will start at 07:15 (CET), bearing in mind the time change on Sunday night.

“It’s been a really difficult weekend for me so far. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even improve on my lap time from practice three in qualifying, so it was a day to forget today. But tomorrow I will do everything I can to gain as many positions as possible. But today was a really tough day that ended with my worst qualifying result in Moto2 so far. Hopefully, we can find out a few things tonight and also for tomorrow we hope to get as far forward as possible.”
